You can, from your bank statements, in an afternoon. Ryze Books takes a year of bank statements, asks you a few plain-language questions, and produces a P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement from the transactions themselves: https://ryzefin.com/books. Free during launch, or $250 to have a Ryze accountant review every number and walk you through it on a call. No bookkeeper, no accounting software and no prior records needed.
The situation
This question comes up every year around the same time. A company has traded for twelve months, the bank accounts have everything in them, and nobody entered a single transaction anywhere. The founder now needs statements for a lender, an investor, a corporate tax registration or just to know whether the year made money.
The usual answers are all slow. Hire a bookkeeper to reconstruct the year, which takes weeks and costs more than the statements are worth. Sign up for accounting software and enter a year of history by hand. Or ask a friend who is an accountant.
The statements already contain the year
The thing all of those miss is that the bank statements already contain the year. Every sale that got paid, every supplier, every salary and every fee is a line on a statement. What a bookkeeper does with no records is read those lines, categorize them, and build the statements from the totals. That is a defined process, and it is what Ryze Books automates.
How it works
You export your bank statements as PDF or CSV and upload them. Every transaction is categorized automatically. Then you answer the handful of questions only you can, in plain language: was this transfer a loan, is this supplier a cost of sales, is this deposit revenue or your own money. You see revenue, expenses, net income and cash position, then download the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow as an Excel workbook, your categorized ledger as a CSV, and a Xero import file if you want to start real bookkeeping from a clean base. Free during launch.
Cash or accrual both work. If you run accrual you enter your open receivables and payables during setup.
If you want a person on it
The Reviewed version is $250. A Ryze accountant checks the statements line by line, removes the draft watermark, and spends an hour with you on a call walking through the numbers. That is the version to use if the statements are going to a bank or an investor.
When the year is too messy for software
Statements missing for months, several entities trading through one account, or a full rebuild that a lender will scrutinize. Those we do with you as a rebuild engagement. Book a call and we tell you on the call what it looks like.
